
Bachelor of Theology (B.Th.) at Doulos Biblical Seminary (DBS)
The Bachelor of Theology (B.Th.) program at Doulos Biblical Seminary (DBS) is a prestigious graduate degree accredited by IATA. This program serves as a foundational theological training for aspiring ministers and leaders. The degree's recognition by esteemed educational bodies worldwide enables graduates to seek admission to master's degree programs in theology.
Goals of the B.Th. Program:
- Introduce students to the fundamentals of Christian faith and instill knowledge about various branches of theological and ministerial disciplines.
- Foster systematic learning of Christian Theology and cultivate independent thinking to address life's challenges.
- Equip students to comprehend the socio-economic, religio-cultural, and political realities of India.
Admission Requirements:
Prospective students interested in the B.Th. degree course should meet the following criteria:
- Qualify for registration in the first degree of a secular university, demonstrated by a pass in the P.U.C/P.D.C/Higher Secondary/Intermediate Board Examinations (12 years of schooling).
OR
Complete a two/three-year diploma course in theology recognized by IATA - Proficiency in English (for B. Th. English).
- Clear entrance examinations and participate in personal interviews conducted on the DBS campus. Entrance exams cover English, General Knowledge, and basic Bible knowledge.
- Attain the age of 18 or above at the time of admission.
- In special cases, mature candidates (25 years and above) with a 10+2 qualification and three years of ministerial experience may be admitted upon successful completion of the qualifying assessment.
Program Duration and Residency:
The B.Th. program at DBS spans three years and is a residential program.
- Exceptions to the three-year duration require prior permission from the Academic Committee of DBS. Non-compliance with this rule may lead to candidate termination.
- The maximum time allowed to fulfill all requirements is five years from the date of registration.
- The academic year commences in April and concludes in March each year.
- Given the rigorous nature of the course, students are expected to be free from organizational or church responsibilities during their residency.
- Off-campus candidates are considered based on the decision of the Admission Committee.
Academic Requirements:
- Successful completion of the B.Th. program necessitates earning a total of 120 credits over three years, spanning six different areas.
- A minimum of 90% attendance is mandatory for each subject. Failure to meet this requirement may result in being debarred from examinations.
- Students must fulfill all academic and ministerial requirements.
